Since we're rapidly approaching the month of December, I thought it'd be appropriate to post the first of my Christmas gift guide series. There will be three in total (under £10, under £25, and under £50) which I hope you'll be obtain inspiration from. Happy shopping!
Yesterday I took a trip to Manchester's German markets: an activity which has become somewhat of a tradition over the past few Christmases. I know what some of you may be thinking, and my retort would be "it's never early to begin celebrating Christmas." If I had it my way, every single day of the year would be Christmas, and I'd spend my existence in a quaint gingerbread cottage nestled away in a forest somewhere, regardless of the obvious links to Hansel and Gretel. Anyway, it seems I've diverged on a tangent. On my visit to the markets I spent the day swathed in this stunning beige wool coat, and boy did it keep me snug! "Where did you purchase such a beauty?", I hear you cry. The answer to your niggling question is- drum roll please- Primark! I was shocked myself to find a garment of such quality and aesthetic splendour buried among the disorderly, clothes-strewn racks of Primark. It reminds me of something that a certain Miss Chung would throw on when gallivanting around New York City, during another day of epitomising perfection.
I'm not usually one to wear jeans- in fact, I think it's been about two years since I last did so- however after recently clearing out my wardrobe, I thought it necessary to invest in a few basic interchangeable pieces, which would be wearable with the majority of my clothes. When buying a pair of jeans, I didn't want to opt for the quintessential 'blue jean', so I decided to purchase this pair in a khaki colour, which are incidentally in keeping with this season's military trend. In my opinion, jeans can often look a little boring and monotonous, so I thought I'd pair them with this pair of buckled biker boots, which are another recent purchase of mine, in addition to being a brilliant dupe for Chloé's Susanna boots (minus the extortionate price tag). The embellishment on the boots combined with the jumper really adds a little va-va-voom and je ne sais quoi to an otherwise dull ensemble.
It's no secret that I'm a bit of a bargain lover, so it's no wonder that I'm also a self-confessed Ebay-aholic. I thought I'd start this regular feature on my blog in order to let you all now what I've been loving from Ebay, as I find it incredibly useful for highstreet dupes at much lower prices. I hope you enjoy it, and I'd love to hear what you've been coveting from the magnificent marketplace that is Ebay!
With Pre-Raphaelite looks, eloquently written posts, and a killer sense of style, Arabella's blog is wonderfully bewitching and dreamy. She's no stranger to the heritage and baroque aesthetic, which becomes evident as soon as you see her outfit posts. I perpetually find myself in awe at the beautiful garments that she wears like pieces of art, laden with opulent detailing and lavish prints. Arabella is definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, one of my style inspirations for this season.
Ever since I discovered Lucy's YouTube channel, I've been head-over-heels in love with her eclectic sense of style. She is my greatest thrifty role model, as her alter ego would most likely be aptly named 'Bargain Queen'. If, like me, you're obsessed with vintage clothing and thrifting, then there's a 100% chance you'll adore Lucy's sense of style as much as I do. Plus, she's a fellow cat lady, and unfortunately she's currently mourning the death of one of her cats, so make sure that you head over to her blog to show her some love.
Not only does Lizzie have an absolutely amazing taste in music, but her sense of style is pretty great too. She never fails to look elegantly refined, yet she does so with a casual laid-back twist, which is a look that I'm a huge fan of.I'm adamant that you could give her any item of clothing, and she'd always manage to pull it off flawlessly. Oh, and did I mention how envious I am of her hair?
Hugs and kisses, Sarah xo
